Alternatives to Made in China
The trend is towards shorter supply chains, but Boracay is embracing multi-sourcing. While most of its production still comes from China (in ultra-clean, standardized, modern, audited, and certified factories), its volume of orders for products made in Europe is growing rapidly. The company offers a genuine European alternative. It now buys from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, and even France!
This allows them today to offer a price for the same product manufactured in France, Europe, or China, and the customer chooses according to their deadline, budget, and beliefs!
Depending on the product, quantity, timeframe and budget, Boracay is able to provide the best source.
-> For a zamac key ring for example, there are alternatives in Hungary, Spain, and Turkey, but China remains the best compromise, they have historical know-how on this range, so it is difficult to do better, even in terms of eco-responsibility where they are at the forefront.
-> For badges or magnets in small quantities, there's no longer any need to go to China. France and Europe offer excellent alternatives.
-> For a terry towel, Boracay mainly looks to Portugal or Turkey.
-> Eastern European countries, on the other hand, specialize in everything that is printed using sublimation, such as lanyards or microfiber cloths.
The key is to find the best expertise, wherever it may be, and to choose a high-performing, clean factory that offers good value for money. Short distances don't necessarily guarantee a clean factory or a low carbon footprint. It's possible to source from China and have a lower carbon footprint than a European product, even including transport, as is the case with zamac, for example.

A closer look at the Clipmatic: a new product Made in France
In 2022, Boracay introduced its new Made in France product: the Clipmatic. This small item is a keychain with a token made of recycled polypropylene. Dyed black, with a clean and simple design, this product is always very useful. It is possible to change the color, but in that case, it will be made of non-recycled polypropylene. Its customization via digital printing is also done in France. And to take it a step further, a presentation card can be added for orders of 5,000 pieces or more (80x40mm – 380gsm – full-color printing on both sides). Boracay currently has 20,000 pieces in stock; allow 15 days to 3 weeks for delivery. For larger orders, allow 5 to 6 weeks.
